It is common to think that when you travel abroad, the level of hygiene and sterility of equipment used may not be the best. This is false propaganda spread by the lobbhy that seeks to discredit the medical tourism industry since it allows top dollars to flow out of the USA and other advanced countries when people who cannot afford the high cost of surgery in their parent countries, seek similarly effective and safe treatments overseas.
Dr. Bhatti owns Five Rivers Hospital where his darling Buds Clinic is located. We follow stringent protocols for:
Infection-free clinical premises
Efficient waste management technique
Other hygiene and safety measures
No accountability, No Safety!
However, it is also true that clinics that are run by fly by night operators may not have your best interests to get a clean disease free procedure in mind. This is for you to research. Most such clinics give heavy offers since they have hardly any infrastructure, do not follow protocols of safety and
medical care and have negligible staff on their payrolls. These clinics are not even registered with the labor or tax departments and operate with great stealth lest they come under the scanner of the medical and revenue authorities. When there is no accountability, there is no safety for the client. The hair transplantation and restoration infections can go quite seriously. These infections can also affect the potential result of surgery. Along with spoiling the result, it can have significant negative implications for your overall health and wellness.
Dr. Amulya Bhatti, a trained Pathologist, and Infection Control specialist takes regular samples from the floors and walls of all our ORs on a regular basis. Our ORs are closed 2 days a week for fumigation and sterilisation using quality disinfectants. On a daily basis, we have the protocol of doing surface decontamination in all our ORs.
Our own CSSD supplies us with sterilised surgical equipment. No disposal equipment is reused. Every punch for harvesting and CST blade/needle for slit making is single-use and never re-used. This adds to the cost of the procedure but what you gain is the least risk of contamination from re-used disposables for deadly lethal viruses like HBV, HCV, and HIV. Our stringent inbuilt and governmental hygiene and safety audit is a recognition of our international hygiene and safety protocols.
With advancement in surgical techniques and technologies, it becomes easier to combat the risk of hygiene and infections. Though it is possible to reduce the risks, their entire elimination is still a daunting task. Nevertheless, we care to adopt plenty of efforts to prevent and manage the infections that may occur before, during or after the hair transplant treatment in our clinic.
How do you research a Clinic’s Safety?
